River landscape
The Xingu and its side channels shape the land around the town. They appear on the map as broad, irregular shapes that contrast with the straight streets.

Vitória do Xingu Map Poster & Print
Vitória do Xingu is in the state of Pará in northern Brazil, close to the lower course of the Xingu, one of the great southern tributaries of the Amazon. The town's street grid is small and regular, set among waterways and large areas of forest and cleared land. On a map the settlement is a neat, compact block against a much larger and looser landscape.
The municipality is best known for its part in the Belo Monte hydroelectric project, one of the largest in Brazil, whose main powerhouse is on its territory. The dam and its works changed the flow of the river and the surrounding landscape, and they brought new roads and infrastructure to what had been a quiet river town.
A Vitória do Xingu map poster captures that contrast of scale. The orderly streets of the town sit beside water that branches and bends in organic forms. The composition is sparse but strong, and it shows a place defined by the river in its very name.

Regular town grid
The town is laid out in straight, evenly spaced streets. At poster scale that small, tidy grid stands out clearly within a wide and open frame.
Open surroundings
Forest and farmland cover most of the surrounding area, with few mapped roads. The space gives the sheet a calm, uncluttered balance around the town.
