Dense residential grid
Short, closely spaced streets form a fine pattern across the municipality, typical of the Athenian suburbs and very graphic in black and white.

Vrilissia Map Poster & Print
Vrilissia is a municipality in the northeastern suburbs of Athens, between the older neighbourhoods of the basin and the slopes of Mount Penteli. On the map it is almost entirely residential: a fine mesh of streets and small blocks, broken by schools, squares and patches of pine, with the grid becoming less regular as the ground rises toward the mountain.
The name comes from Vrilissos, an ancient name for Penteli, the mountain whose marble was used for the monuments of classical Athens. The modern town developed mainly in the twentieth century as a quiet, leafy suburb, and it is known today for its residential character and its green spaces rather than for major landmarks.
A Vrilissia map poster shows a close, even texture of streets, with short blocks that run into one another and larger through-roads connecting the suburb to the rest of Athens. At the edges the density drops as the slopes and wooded land of Penteli begin, giving the composition a clear direction.

Penteli foothills
Toward the northeast the streets loosen and curve as the ground rises toward Mount Penteli, the mountain that gives the area its old name.
Pockets of green
Small parks, pine groves and school grounds appear as quiet gaps in the grid, balancing the density of the surrounding blocks.

Pourquoi Vrilissia
Une carte qui a du sens
For families who live in Vrilissia or grew up there, the map shows the everyday geography of home: the walk to school, the local square, the streets around. It is a personal subject presented in a calm, architectural way.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised with a street name or a date, and the map comes in Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir brings out the density of the grid.
