La carte
Weldiya Map Poster & Print
Weldiya is the administrative centre of the North Wollo Zone in the Amhara region of Ethiopia. It lies in highland country, and its map is shaped by the main road running north through the town. Streets branch off this central route and climb into the surrounding slopes, so the built-up area stretches along the valley rather than spreading evenly.
The town sits on one of the main routes through northern Ethiopia, and it has long been a stopping point for travellers and traders moving between regions. It is home to Weldiya University, founded in the last decade, which has added new buildings and activity to the town's edges.
A Weldiya map poster captures a highland town defined by its road and its terrain. The long central axis gives the composition a strong spine, while side streets and winding tracks follow the slopes. The result is an elongated, organic layout that feels quite different from the gridded plains of many other cities.

Highland slopes
Hills surround the town, and roads that leave the valley floor begin to curve and climb, giving the edges of the map a winding, irregular character.
University district
The campus of Weldiya University adds a distinct area of buildings and paths to the town, set apart from the older streets along the main road.

Pourquoi Weldiya
Une carte qui a du sens
For people from North Wollo, Weldiya is a place of family, school and journeys along the northern road. A map of the town can carry a family name in the title and a graduation or homecoming date in the subtitle, turning it into a personal keepsake.
The long road and hillside streets look clean in Classic black and white and Noir. Sand reflects the highland light, while Paper and Blueprint offer softer or cooler looks. The coordinates line can point to a family home or the university.
