Residential canals
Dredged canals cut into the land from North Sound, creating long fingers of waterfront plots. On the poster they produce an intricate, comb-like pattern.

La carte
West Bay Map Poster & Print
West Bay is the district that occupies the northwestern corner of Grand Cayman. On a map it forms a broad, low peninsula, with the Caribbean Sea along the west and north and the shallow waters of North Sound to the east. A jagged fringe of mangroves and inlets marks where land and lagoon meet, and roads loop around the coast and cut across the interior.
The district includes the northern end of Seven Mile Beach. Its residential areas are threaded with dredged canals that give boats access to North Sound, and from above these canals create finger-like patterns of land and water, among the most distinctive shapes on the island. The coast itself alternates between sandy stretches and rocky ironshore.
West Bay is also home to Hell, a patch of jagged black limestone that gave its name to a small settlement and post office, and to the Cayman Turtle Centre. A West Bay map poster sets these familiar places within the outline of the peninsula, with water on almost every side.

Seven Mile Beach end
The northern stretch of Seven Mile Beach runs along the western shore. Its smooth sweep of coastline gives the map a clean edge against the Caribbean.
North Sound edge
The eastern side faces the shallow North Sound, where mangroves and inlets create an irregular, detailed shoreline in contrast to the open coast.

Pourquoi West Bay
Une carte qui a du sens
Many Caymanian families have lived in West Bay for generations, and it is also where visitors stay, marry or buy a first home on the island. A poster of the district marks that connection, with the sea on three sides.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a wedding date or the name of your street, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Get the HD files for $9, or order a print with an optional wooden frame.
