The main streets gather in a small, dense cluster, the only part of the map where lines crowd together before dispersing into the countryside.

La carte
Xinmin Map Poster & Print
Xinmin is a town in Chongqing municipality, in the rolling hill country north-east of the central city. The land here is a succession of ridges, shallow valleys and cultivated slopes, and on a map the town appears as a compact grouping of streets fitted into whatever flat ground the terrain allows, with roads winding away between the hills.
As in much of rural Chongqing, the surrounding countryside is intensively farmed, and small fields, reservoirs and ponds break the land into irregular shapes. Villages and single houses are scattered along the roads rather than concentrated in one place, so the map shows a fine, dispersed network spreading out from the town centre.
A Xinmin map poster offers a quiet, faithful portrait of this landscape: the dense core, the lines of the connecting roads and the patchwork of hills and fields around them. It is a meaningful piece for people from Xinmin who have moved to larger cities and want to keep the shape of home in view.

Winding roads
Roads leaving the town follow the contours of the hills, bending and branching in ways that give the poster a gentle, flowing rhythm.
Fields and ponds
Small reservoirs, ponds and cultivated plots fill the land between roads, leaving soft shapes and open areas across the composition.
