La carte
Yanggu Map Poster & Print
Yanggu is a county in Liaocheng, in the west of Shandong, on the wide, flat North China Plain. The county town is laid out in a largely regular grid of streets and blocks, and from above it forms a neat, compact shape set among farmland, villages and the straight lines of irrigation channels and country roads.
The land here has been shaped by rivers over many centuries, and the historic route of the Grand Canal passes through the county. Beyond the town, the map shows scattered villages connected by field roads, forming a fine, even texture across the plain, with the town itself as the densest point.
A Yanggu map poster also carries a literary association. The county is linked to Jingyang Ridge, where, in the classic novel Water Margin, the hero Wu Song kills a tiger with his bare hands, a story known across China. On the map, however, the town is simply what it is: an ordered grid on open ground.

Grand Canal route
The historic Grand Canal passes through the county, a long waterway that links Yanggu to the north–south history of China's inland transport.
Plains and villages
Around the town, villages sit in a regular pattern among fields, joined by straight roads that fill the map with a quiet, repeated texture.
