Mango orchards
Orchards cover the slopes around Yujing and give the district its reputation for mangoes. On the map they form a fine, patchy texture across the hills.

La carte
Yujing Map Poster & Print
Yujing is a district in the eastern part of Tainan, in southwestern Taiwan, where the coastal plain rises into the first hills of the Central Mountain Range. On a map its compact town centre sits on lower ground, and roads fan out from there into valleys and along ridges. Rivers and streams run down from the east in winding, branching lines.
Yujing is widely known as Taiwan's mango country. Its orchards cover much of the surrounding hillside, and the district is especially associated with the Irwin variety, which is celebrated every summer at harvest time. From above, the orchards form a fine, irregular pattern across the slopes.
A Yujing map poster shows a quiet agricultural centre set within hill country, with a small grid of streets, a few main roads linking it to Tainan city and a wide stretch of orchards, rivers and wooded ridges around it. In black and white, the terrain and the rivers dominate the composition.

Winding rivers
Rivers and streams flow down from the mountains through the district. Their curving, branching courses create strong natural lines on the map.
Compact centre
The town centre is small and closely built on lower ground. It stands out clearly against the open, cultivated hills around it.
