La carte
Zhangzhai Map Poster & Print
Zhangzhai lies in the north of Jiangsu Province, in the Xuzhou area, not far from where Jiangsu meets Shandong. The countryside here is part of the broad Huang-Huai plain, flat and closely farmed, with long drainage channels and roads laid out in straight lines. On a map the town appears as a dense cluster of streets set within a regular pattern of fields and villages.
Towns in this region have grown with farming, light industry and trade along the main roads. The street plan of Zhangzhai reflects that practical growth, with an older core, newer residential blocks along the edges and roads connecting it to neighbouring towns and to the city of Xuzhou further southeast.
A Zhangzhai map poster captures the quiet geometry of the plain: the grid of the town and the long lines of fields around it. It is a modest, honest portrait rather than a famous skyline, and it can mean a great deal to anyone whose family comes from this corner of Jiangsu.
