Inezgane lies directly south of Agadir, on the flat land near where the Souss River reaches the Atlantic. It is part of the larger Agadir urban area, but its own map looks different. Instead of the planned, spacious layout of the rebuilt coastal city, Inezgane has a tight weave of lanes and closely packed blocks.
The town is best known as a transport and trading hub. Regional roads meet here, and its large markets draw people from across the Souss valley. On the map, the busiest arteries stand out as thick lines through the dense fabric. Smaller streets fill the spaces between them in irregular, almost cellular shapes.
To the north, the Souss riverbed and its green margins mark a soft boundary before Agadir begins. An Inezgane map poster shows this dense town between river and plain. Away from the main roads, the streets are narrow and closely packed. At print scale the dense blocks become a fine, textured pattern that looks good in black and white.
The river edge
The lower Souss runs just north of the town. Its broad bed and the green land beside it leave an open band between Inezgane and Agadir.
