Ciudad Guzmán Map Poster & Print
Ciudad Guzmán, officially Zapotlán el Grande, lies in a high valley in southern Jalisco. On a map, the city's grid of straight streets spreads out from the central garden and cathedral, while Laguna de Zapotlán lies just to the north as a large, smooth shape at the edge of town.
To the southwest rise the Nevado de Colima and the Volcán de Colima, one of the most active volcanoes in Mexico. The city was badly damaged in the 1985 earthquake and has since been rebuilt. It is also the birthplace of the muralist José Clemente Orozco and the writer Juan José Arreola.
A Ciudad Guzmán map poster brings together the orderly grid, the lake and the rising land toward the volcanoes. It is a clear, balanced composition, and a fitting tribute to a city with a strong cultural identity.
