Codru is a town within Chișinău Municipality, directly adjoining the south-western edge of the Moldovan capital. On the map it is hard to tell exactly where the city ends and Codru begins: city streets continue into the town, while houses with long garden plots and green patches become more common towards the outskirts.
The name refers to the Codri, the forested hills of central Moldova that stretch west of the capital.
