Reclaimed shoreline
The waterfront follows a straight, engineered edge rather than a natural coast, a clear sign of the land reclamation that made space for the towers of the new town.

Tiu Keng Leng Map Poster & Print
Tiu Keng Leng sits on the western shore of Junk Bay in eastern Hong Kong, where a strip of flat, reclaimed ground runs between the water and a wall of steep hills. From above, the district reads as a tight cluster of residential towers set on broad podiums, with roads curving around them to fit the uneven edge of the slopes.
The name carries a layered past. For decades the area was known in English as Rennie's Mill, a hillside settlement that grew after 1949 around refugees from mainland China, many of them former Nationalist soldiers. The settlement was cleared in the 1990s, and the new town built in its place kept almost nothing of the old street pattern, which gives the present map an unusually clean, planned look.
A Tiu Keng Leng map poster captures that contrast well: the dense geometry of housing estates on one side, the empty contours of the hills on the other, and the calm line of the bay closing the frame. In black and white, the reclaimed shoreline becomes a single sharp edge, and the few roads climbing inland stand out like pencil strokes.

Metro interchange
Tiu Keng Leng station is where the Kwun Tong line and the Tseung Kwan O line meet, so two rail routes converge on the map at the heart of the district.
Hills to the west
Directly behind the housing estates the ground rises sharply into undeveloped hillside, leaving a large blank area that frames the built-up strip along the bay.

Mengapa Tiu Keng Leng
Peta yang penuh makna
People hang this map because it shows a part of Hong Kong they know from daily life: the walk to the station, the estate they grew up in, the view across the bay. It is also a quiet record of a place that changed completely within a generation.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps the name of an estate or a moving-in date, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital files come in six print sizes, or order a printed poster.
