The Dinder River
The river loops past the town in broad meanders, its tree-lined banks forming a strong curved band that gives the poster a clear natural focus.

La mappa
Ad-Dindar Map Poster & Print
Ad-Dindar lies in Sennar state in south-eastern Sudan, on the Dinder River, a seasonal tributary of the Blue Nile that rises in the Ethiopian highlands. The surrounding land is part of the broad clay plains that stretch across this region, flat, open and widely farmed, so the river's winding course is the most defining line on the map.
The Dinder flows strongly in the rainy season and shrinks in the dry months, and its banks are lined with trees that stand out from the open plain. The same river gives its name to Dinder National Park, a large protected area upstream toward the Ethiopian border that is known for its wildlife and seasonal wetlands.
An Ad-Dindar map poster centres on the meeting of town and river. The streets form a modest, fairly regular pattern close to the water, while the river bends through the frame in wide loops. In black and white the result is spare and graphic, with the plain around it left as calm open space.

Town on the bank
Houses and streets are grouped close to the river on flat ground, a compact settlement whose simple layout contrasts with the flowing water nearby.
Clay plains
Beyond the town, level farmland extends to the horizon, marked by tracks and field edges that show up as faint lines across open space.
