La mappa
Bahārak Map Poster & Print
Bahārak lies east of Fayzabad in Afghanistan's Badakhshan province, in a broad valley surrounded by steep mountains. It sits where river valleys come together, and that position has long made it a crossing point for routes heading deeper into the Hindu Kush and toward the Wakhan.
The flat valley floor holds the town and its fields. From above, the settlement looks like a scatter of compounds and lanes among irrigated plots, with roads following the rivers out of the basin. Past the cultivated ground the map turns abruptly to mountain slopes, where few lines can be drawn.
A Bahārak map poster captures that contrast: a green, carefully worked valley against an empty mountain frame. It is a spare, calm image of a place most people know only by name, and it means a great deal to those who call it home.

Irrigated valley floor
Fields and orchards fill the flat basin around the settlement, drawn as a fine pattern of plots and channels between the compounds.
Mountain margins
Steep slopes close in on every side, leaving wide empty space around the valley that puts the town in scale.

Perché Bahārak
Una mappa che ha un significato
For families from Badakhshan living elsewhere, a map of Bahārak is a way to keep the valley close. The minimal style suits a place defined by its setting more than its buildings.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a family name, a date or text in Dari, then choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
