Bay is a municipality in Laguna province, on the southern shore of Laguna de Bay, the largest lake in the Philippines. The lake is named after the town, which was an important early settlement on its shores. On a map the water forms a broad northern edge, with the town extending south towards higher ground.
The poblacion lies near the lakeshore, organised around a church and plaza with a modest grid of streets. Beyond it, barangays spread across flat, partly agricultural land, and the national highway through the area draws a strong line along the southern side of the lake.
