The town stretches along the shore, and most of its streets run parallel to the sea, with only short connections climbing up the slopes.
The coastal highway that runs along much of northern Turkey passes through the town and forms its main axis. Behind the centre, roads twist their way up into the hills, where scattered houses and small plots, often planted with hazelnut trees, follow the contours. Streams cut short valleys down to the sea.
