Bilhaur is a town and tehsil headquarters in Kanpur Nagar district, northwest of Kanpur, in the wide alluvial plain of the Ganges. The land here is flat and heavily farmed, and the town's plan reflects that. A dense centre of lanes and bazaars sits where the roads meet, and it quickly gives way to scattered buildings, orchards and fields.
From above, the roads are the main structure. A main route carries traffic through the town, and smaller roads branch off toward surrounding villages, while the old core stays a close weave of narrow streets. The Ganges flows not far away.
