Daet is the capital of Camarines Norte in the Bicol Region of the Philippines. It lies on low, flat ground near the Pacific coast. On a map, the town centre forms a compact grid around the provincial buildings and plaza, and rivers wind through the surrounding land toward the sea.
Daet is home to the first monument to José Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines. It was completed in 1898, only two years after his execution. The town is also known for Bagasbas Beach on the nearby coast, a popular spot for surfing and kiteboarding.
