Roadside settlement
Houses line the main roads in long, continuous strips instead of forming a dense centre. This linear pattern is typical of the Pangasinan lowlands.

La mappa
Domalanoan Map Poster & Print
Domalanoan lies in Pangasinan province in the Ilocos Region, on the broad, low plain that opens onto Lingayen Gulf. The land is flat and wet here, and the map shows it. Roads run in long, mostly straight lines, and homes gather along them in continuous strips. Between them are rice fields, ponds and small channels that give the landscape its pattern.
This part of Pangasinan is known for its coastal lowlands and for aquaculture, with ponds lining many of the waterways close to the gulf. On a map, these areas appear as tight clusters of rectangles, very different from the loose, curving outlines of fields and settlements farther inland. The gulf coast itself makes a long, gentle curve on the northern horizon.
A Domalanoan map poster is a picture of a place shaped by water, both the sea to the north and the rivers and ponds that cross the plain. Most of the design is quiet and horizontal, which makes the lines of roads and houses stand out even more against the open land.

Ponds and channels
Many small bodies of water and waterways cross this low country. They create a fine pattern of rectangles and lines, especially toward the coast.
Lingayen Gulf
The gulf lies a short distance to the north. On a wider framing, its broad shoreline gives the map a strong, calm edge against the busy plain.
