Mississippi edge
The river runs along the western side of the city, a wide open band on the map that frames the streets and gives the composition a strong natural border.

La mappa
Fridley Map Poster & Print
Fridley lies just north of Minneapolis in Anoka County, with the Mississippi River along its western edge. On a map the city is a patchwork of residential streets, industrial areas and parks, crossed by major routes including Interstate 694 and by railway lines running parallel to the river. Rice Creek winds through the city on its way to the Mississippi, bordered by a green corridor.
The city is home to Medtronic's operational headquarters, a reminder of its place in the history of the medical device industry. Fridley was also badly hit by the tornado outbreak of May 1965, and much of it was rebuilt afterwards. In the north of the city, Springbrook Nature Center preserves an area of wetland and woodland among the suburban streets.
A Fridley map poster shows a city defined by the river on one side and a dense web of roads on the other. The broad Mississippi, the winding line of Rice Creek and the large shapes of parks and industrial land give the sheet plenty of contrast. It suits people who grew up here, commute from here, or remember a particular street near the water.

Rice Creek
The creek meanders across the city before joining the Mississippi, its thin winding line and adjoining parkland softening the regular suburban blocks.
Highways and rail
Interstate 694 and the rail lines beside the river cut clean, straight paths through Fridley, adding bold structure among the residential streets.

Perché Fridley
Una mappa che ha un significato
Fridley is where many Twin Cities families put down roots, and a map of the city makes a thoughtful housewarming or anniversary gift. The river frontage and creek corridors give it a clear, recognisable shape, even for people used to seeing only Minneapolis on the wall.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 download covers six sizes, including 18×24″ and 24×36″, and a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame is also available.
