Guaçuí is in the south of Espírito Santo, Brazil, close to the border with Minas Gerais. The town lies in hilly country, on the approach to the Caparaó mountains, where some of Brazil's highest peaks are found. On a map, its streets bend along a valley and climb onto nearby slopes, with the countryside close on every side.
