La mappa
Horlivka Map Poster & Print
Horlivka is in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, in the coal-mining area of the Donbas. Its map shows a city that grew around industry rather than from a single historic centre. Districts are spread across a wide area, often clustered around former mines, and connected by main roads and railway lines that cross the rolling steppe.
Mining has left clear marks on the landscape. Spoil heaps, the conical hills of waste rock typical of the Donbas, stand near the old pits and appear as distinct round shapes on the map. Industrial rail lines connect mines and factories, adding curves and junctions to the network of city streets.
The city's central area has broader avenues and larger blocks, while outlying settlements keep a more village-like layout. A Horlivka map poster shows this scattered, industrial geography with its separate districts, rail lines and main roads, forming a detailed record of a city shaped by coal over many generations.
