La mappa
Ji’an Map Poster & Print
Ji’an lies in central Jiangxi on the Gan River, the province's main river, which flows north through the city toward Poyang Lake. The river dominates the map, wide and gently curving, with the older centre on one bank and newer districts developing across the water. Bridges link the two sides at intervals.
Away from the river the terrain mixes low hills and valleys. The street pattern is fairly regular near the centre and less so toward the edges. Lakes, ponds and green spaces break up the residential blocks. At poster scale the Gan reads as a broad blank ribbon, with the city arranged in layers on either side of it.
The prefecture governed from Ji’an includes Jinggangshan, the mountain area closely tied to the early years of the Chinese Communist revolution. The city itself has long been a regional centre in the Gan valley and was known in earlier times as Luling. A Ji’an map poster focuses on that river setting, which has shaped the city for centuries.

Bridges
Several bridges cross the Gan at intervals. They draw strong lines between the two halves of the city and give the river a rhythm on the printed map.
Hills and ponds
Low hills, small lakes and ponds scattered among the streets break the grid into irregular pieces, especially toward the outer edges of the city.

Perché Ji’an
Una mappa che ha un significato
A Ji’an map suits people with family roots in the Gan valley, those who studied or worked there, and visitors who passed through on the way to Jinggangshan. The river and its two banks make the place recognisable at a glance.
Use the title and subtitle for a name, a date or a few words of your own, and keep or change the coordinates line. Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand give the same map five different moods.
