La mappa
Kabala Map Poster & Print
Kabala is the principal town of Koinadugu District in the far north of Sierra Leone, set on upland ground where the country rises towards the Guinea border. The landscape around it is higher and cooler than the coast, with granite hills and open savanna. On a map the town reads as a compact core ringed by rising ground.
The Wara Wara Mountains stand close to the town, and their outline explains much of the street pattern. Roads push out where the land allows and bend around the slopes where it does not. In the centre, a loose network of streets and lanes connects markets, homes and administrative buildings, and it becomes sparser towards the edge of the hills.
Because the built area is modest and the surroundings largely open, a Kabala map poster has a strong sense of place without clutter. The routes linking the town to the rest of the north appear as clear lines leaving the centre. The unbuilt spaces around it give the composition a calm, generous frame.

Wara Wara Mountains
The nearby range rises just beyond the town. It shapes where streets can run and leaves the hill country as open space on the poster.
Radiating roads
Main routes leave the centre in several directions towards other northern towns and villages, giving the map a simple, star-like structure.

Perché Kabala
Una mappa che ha un significato
For people from Koinadugu, for those who worked or studied in the north, and for family members abroad, a map of Kabala keeps a specific place in view. It is a modest, honest drawing of a town that rarely appears in print.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with a family name or the year you left, and pick one of five styles, including Noir and Blueprint. Printed posters ship from partners in 30+ countries, and a free 900 px preview lets you check the layout first.
