La mappa
Kingswood Map Poster & Print
Kingswood lies on the eastern side of Bristol, in South Gloucestershire. From above, it is a dense network of residential streets, with terraced and semi-detached houses arranged along main roads that lead toward the city centre and out into the countryside. Parks and green spaces break up the pattern in places.
The area was once a royal hunting forest and later became a coal-mining district. In the eighteenth century, George Whitefield and John Wesley preached to the colliers here, and Wesley founded a school in Kingswood that later moved to Bath. These links make it an important place in the history of Methodism.
A Kingswood map poster captures a characteristic English suburban landscape: winding streets, older roads that follow historic routes, and the edge where the city gives way to fields. It reads clearly in black and white.
