La mappa
Laoang Map Poster & Print
Laoang is in Northern Samar, in the Philippines' Eastern Visayas, and much of the municipality is made up of islands rather than mainland. The town centre sits on an island just off the northern coast of Samar, separated from the mainland by a narrow channel near the mouth of the Catubig River.
On a map, water shapes everything. The town streets fill a small area of the island, the channel runs close by, and the coastline around it is irregular, with inlets, points and smaller islands. The Pacific-facing waters to the east and north leave wide, empty space at the edges of the frame.
Travel here has always depended on boats as much as roads, and the map makes that clear. A Laoang map poster shows a town defined by crossings, a compact grid of streets surrounded on almost every side by channel, river and sea.
