Union Pacific corridor
The railway cuts a straight line through town, with the yards and a pedestrian footbridge linking downtown to the west side, a reminder of why Laramie exists at all.

La mappa
Laramie Map Poster & Print
Laramie sits at roughly 7,200 feet on the open Laramie Plains of southeastern Wyoming, between the Laramie Mountains to the east and the Snowy Range to the west. The town was founded in 1868 as the Union Pacific pushed its transcontinental line across the territory, and the tracks still run north to south through the centre, dividing the older downtown from the west side.
On a map the street grid is orderly and aligned with the railway, while the Laramie River traces a looser line along the western edge of town. East of downtown, the University of Wyoming campus forms a large block of paths and quads, home to the state's only public four-year university. Interstate 80 bends around the south and west, sealing the town against the surrounding grassland.
Laramie also holds a place in the history of voting: in 1870 a local resident, Louisa Swain, is widely recorded as the first woman to cast a ballot in a general election under an equal suffrage law. A Laramie map poster turns that compact frontier plan, with its rail yard and campus, into a clean study of lines against a wide, empty plain.

University of Wyoming
The campus east of downtown appears as a broad open block of walkways, lawns and buildings, a distinct texture set against the regular residential grid around it.
Laramie River
The river runs north along the western side of town, its meanders softening the otherwise rectilinear plan before it heads out across the open plains.

Perché Laramie
Una mappa che ha un significato
