Ledyard is a town in New London County in southeastern Connecticut. Most of it is woodland, with farm clearings and houses set along winding roads. There is no single dense downtown. On the map, the road network looks like a loose web of rural routes linking small villages, and Gales Ferry sits along the western edge.
The Thames River forms that western boundary, a wide tidal channel that gives the poster its most prominent line of water. Ponds and brooks are scattered through the woods. Ledyard is also home to the Mashantucket Pequot Reservation and its Foxwoods Resort Casino, whose large complex and approach roads stand out against the otherwise low-density countryside.
