La mappa
Lianghu Map Poster & Print
Lianghu lies in northern Zhejiang, on the flat alluvial plain that runs between Shaoxing and Ningbo toward Hangzhou Bay. This is some of the most water-rich land in China, and the map shows it immediately. Rivers, canals and small lakes weave through the town and its surroundings, so that streets often follow the lines of water rather than the other way round.
Like much of this region, the area has changed quickly, with newer residential and industrial districts laid out in broad rectangular blocks beside older settlements that grew along waterways. The combination creates two distinct textures: an intricate, watery pattern from the older landscape, and a cleaner modern grid imposed on top of it. The result feels layered rather than uniform.
A Lianghu map poster turns that interplay into a striking print. The waterways appear as fluid lines threading through the composition, while roads and blocks provide firm geometry around them. It is a subtle place to put on a wall, but one where the map carries real character, a record of how people on the plain have always lived alongside water.

Lakes and ponds
Small bodies of water are scattered through the area, appearing as open shapes that give the black-and-white print pauses and contrast.
New district grids
Broad, regular blocks of recent development sit beside the older water-shaped settlement pattern, and the two layers read clearly against each other on the map.
