Two rivers meeting
The Nitelva and Leira join right beside the town centre. Their curving banks frame the streets on two sides, and the town sits on a near-peninsula of land.

La mappa
Lillestrøm Map Poster & Print
Lillestrøm sits just east of Oslo, on low ground where the Nitelva and Leira rivers meet. The combined river flows into Lake Øyeren, and that water shapes the map. The rivers curve around the town centre, and to the south they spread into one of the largest inland deltas in Northern Europe. The delta is protected as a nature reserve.
The town grew around the railway and the timber trade. It is still a transport hub on the lines between Oslo, the airport at Gardermoen and the east. Lillestrøm is also home to the Norway Trade Fairs centre and to the football club Lillestrøm SK. In 2020 the municipality was enlarged to include its neighbours.
A Lillestrøm map poster works best when it gives the water room. The tight grid of the centre and the thick bundle of rail lines sit against the soft, branching channels of the delta. The contrast between these two parts gives the print its character. It suits anyone who knows the town from commuting, matches or walks along the riverbank.

Øyeren delta
To the south, the rivers split into channels, islands and marshes before reaching the lake. It is a delicate, branching pattern that reads beautifully in fine line.
Rail corridor
Several railway lines meet and run in parallel through the town. They cut a strong straight band across the map, echoing Lillestrøm's history as a junction.

Perché Lillestrøm
Una mappa che ha un significato
Many people hang Lillestrøm because it is their home, their club's town or the place they commute from every day. A title with a family name, a moving-in date or the club's founding year makes the print personal.
The map comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint suits the delta's channels. Noir turns the rivers into pale lines on a dark sheet that sits well in Scandinavian interiors.
