Post-war housing blocks
Large residential buildings from the 1960s expansion make bold, regular shapes on the map. They form the most distinctive geometric element of the town.

La mappa
Onex Map Poster & Print
Onex is a municipality on the southwestern edge of Geneva, on the left bank of the Rhône. From above, it is compact and clearly divided into areas. Large apartment blocks from the post-war expansion stand beside quieter quarters of villas and gardens, and main roads and a tram line connect it to the centre of Geneva.
The northern edge slopes down toward the river, and wooded ground softens the transition from town to water. On a black-and-white map, the contrast between the large, geometric footprints of the housing estates and the finer grain of individual houses gives Onex its particular texture. Green spaces and small parks break up the density.
An Onex map poster shows a suburb that is part of a larger city and still has a character of its own. Tower blocks, garden streets and riverside woodland all fit into a small frame. It is a detailed, readable plan that rewards a closer look.

Villa quarters
Streets of detached houses and gardens surround the larger blocks. Their fine, even grain contrasts with the heavier outlines of the housing estates.
Slopes to the Rhône
Wooded ground descends toward the river on the northern side. It gives the dense suburb a soft, green edge and a sense of the landscape beyond.
