Canal threads
Narrow rivers and canals pass through and around the town, and many streets follow their curves, so water becomes the organising line of the map.

La mappa
Qinnan Map Poster & Print
Qinnan lies on the low, level plain of northern Jiangsu, a region where the land barely rises above sea level and water is everywhere. On the map the town appears as a compact built-up area threaded by small rivers and canals, with streets that often run parallel to the watercourses before turning to meet a bridge.
Beyond the town edges, the landscape breaks into a fine mosaic of fields, ponds and drainage channels, the result of centuries of farming and water management on the plain. Villages sit along the banks in narrow strips, so the surrounding map looks less like open countryside and more like a lattice of lines and small rectangles.
A Qinnan map poster makes this geometry the subject. There are no hills or dramatic coastlines here, only the careful pattern of canals, roads and cultivated plots that define life in this part of Jiangsu. In a monochrome print the effect is quiet and precise, almost textile-like, and it rewards a closer look.

Pond mosaic
Outside the centre, countless fish ponds and flooded fields form a grid of small shapes, giving the edges of the poster a dense, patterned texture.
Bank-side villages
Rural settlements stretch in thin lines along waterways and roads, a typical form on the Jiangsu plain that reads clearly even at poster scale.
