Delta canals
Irrigation canals cross the plain in long, slightly curving lines. They are the main pattern-makers of the surrounding countryside and link village to village.

La mappa
Quwaysinā Map Poster & Print
Quwaysinā lies in Monufia Governorate in the southern Nile Delta, between the Damietta and Rosetta branches of the river. The land around it is completely flat and intensively farmed. From above, the town looks like a dense cluster of streets. Irrigation canals, narrow field strips and closely spaced villages surround it on every side.
Like many delta towns, Quwaysinā serves as a market and administrative centre for its district. It is linked by road and railway to Tanta, Benha and Shebin El Kom. Its surroundings show the typical delta layout, where canals and paths divide the land into long, narrow plots. Villages sit only a short distance apart, reflecting some of the highest rural population densities in Egypt.
A Quwaysinā map poster shows this intense, finely divided landscape. The town has a solid, busy core, canals trace gentle lines across the plain, and transport routes cut straight through the fields. It is a personal piece for families from Monufia, many of whom now live in Cairo, Alexandria or abroad.

Dense town core
The centre is a close grid of streets and markets. On the poster it is the darkest, most detailed area within the open agricultural landscape.
Road and rail
Roads and a railway link Quwaysinā with the neighbouring delta cities. They add firm, straight strokes across the finely divided fields.
