The river bends along the northern side of the commune. Its curve gives the composition a smooth, flowing edge above the industrial areas.

La mappa
Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray Map Poster & Print
Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray lies just south of Rouen, on the left bank of the Seine, where the river winds through a series of broad loops. From above, the town is a mix of patterns. Older streets sit near the river, larger postwar housing estates spread across the plateau, and railway lines and industrial zones run along the valley. Everything is framed by the woodland of the Rouvray forest.
It is one of the larger communes in the Rouen metropolitan area and has a long industrial and railway history. That history is visible on the map in the rail yards, road junctions and big factory plots near the Seine. To the south and west, the forest forms a large unbuilt area that gives the town a clear edge and a green buffer.
A Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray map poster shows a working suburb in detail. In monochrome, the curve of the Seine, the straight lines of rail and road and the geometric housing blocks come together as layers. It is a more varied picture than many town maps, with a strong contrast between built and wooded ground.
