Valley roads
Main streets run up the valleys toward the mountains, with development following them in long, narrow bands instead of spreading evenly.

La mappa
Ţorqabeh Map Poster & Print
Ţorqabeh lies a short distance northwest of Mashhad in Razavi Khorasan, in north-eastern Iran. It sits where the plain around the city meets the slopes of the Binalud mountains, and its map reflects that transition: a more regular layout on lower ground, and roads that narrow and bend as they follow valleys up into the hills.
The town is known as a green retreat for people from Mashhad, particularly in summer, when the higher, cooler valleys draw visitors to gardens, orchards, restaurants and holiday homes. Together with neighbouring Shandiz, it forms a popular area for day trips out of the city, and much of its development reflects that role.
From above, the green valleys show as long corridors with buildings and walled gardens pressed along the roads. A Ţorqabeh map poster captures this shape, a town drawn by the pull of the mountains and the water that comes down from them, quite different from the dense grid of the city on the plain below.

Gardens and orchards
Walled gardens and orchards line many routes, drawn on the map as a fine pattern of parcels between the roads.
Binalud foothills
Beyond the town the terrain rises steeply and the street network ends, leaving the mountains as open space at the edge of the print.
