Planned avenues
Wide, straight boulevards divide the city into large rectangular blocks, a layout that reflects its recent founding and reads like a clean architectural plan.

La mappa
Tumxuk Map Poster & Print
Tumxuk is one of Xinjiang's newest cities. It was established in 2002 and is administered by the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and that history is visible from above. Instead of a slowly accumulated old town, the map shows a planned layout of broad avenues and large rectangular blocks on flat land, with little to interrupt the geometry.
Around the city the pattern continues into the countryside. Irrigated fields, many of them used for cotton, are divided by straight canals, shelterbelts of trees and farm roads, so the town's grid seems to extend outward across the plain. Further away, beyond the cultivated land, lies the desert of the Tarim Basin, an almost blank expanse on any map.
A Tumxuk map poster has a clean, architectural quality that suits modern interiors. Its wide streets, long rectangular plots and ruled field lines form a composition closer to a technical drawing than a traditional city plan, and the sparse edges make the dense centre stand out all the more. It records a city at an early stage of its life.

Irrigated farmland
Fields, canals and tree belts surround the city in long parallel strips, extending the grid outward and giving the poster a fine, even texture.
Desert margins
Beyond the cultivated land the Tarim Basin opens into near-empty desert, leaving pale space around the edges that frames the town's dense pattern.

Perché Tumxuk
Una mappa che ha un significato
For people who moved to Tumxuk for work or were born in this young city, a map records a place that did not exist a generation ago. Add a title, the year you arrived or a family name, and adjust the coordinates to a home or workplace.
The ruled geometry looks particularly sharp in Blueprint or Noir, while Classic black & white, Paper and Sand offer lighter finishes. Download the $9 HD files in six print sizes, or order a printed matte poster with an optional wooden frame.
