Greenwood Lake
A long, slim lake running roughly north to south across the New Jersey and New York border. Its shoreline roads follow every cove, which gives the top of the map a strong vertical line.

La mappa
West Milford Map Poster & Print
West Milford covers a large piece of northern New Jersey's Highlands, and from above it looks more like a woodland than a town. Ridges run from southwest to northeast, and water fills the valleys between them. The roads bend around shorelines and hillsides. Neighbourhoods form small loose clusters along the roads and never join into one continuous grid.
Water is the main feature on the map. Greenwood Lake runs north across the border into New York, and reservoirs sit in the southern and eastern parts of the township. On a West Milford map poster these long, narrow shapes stand out clearly against the pale forest. The streets bend around the reservoirs rather than cutting through the hills.
The Appalachian Trail crosses the township's northern ridges, and much of the land lies inside state forests and parks. Because of this, large parts of the map stay almost empty. Only a few trails and service roads cross the green space. The result is a quiet, open composition with lots of white space.

Highland ridges
Parallel ridges run diagonally through the township and set the direction of almost every road. The map shows this as a steady grain from southwest to northeast.
Reservoir country
Several reservoirs fill the valleys and supply water to communities further south. On paper they look like dark, branching shapes, and the lanes around them bend to follow their edges.

Perché West Milford
Una mappa che ha un significato
People from West Milford often think of it in terms of lakes and trails rather than streets. This poster shows that: the water, the ridges and the scattered roads, printed clearly enough to recognise the shoreline you know best.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a house number or the summer you moved in. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
