La mappa
Xinglong Map Poster & Print
Xinglong lies in the mountainous east of Chongqing, where steep hills and narrow valleys leave little flat land. On a map the town follows the lie of the ground: streets bend with the valley, roads switch back up the slopes, and the built area stretches out in a narrow band rather than spreading in every direction.
Towns in this part of China are shaped by their terrain more than by any plan. Farmland climbs the hillsides in terraces, small settlements dot the slopes, and the main roads trace the easiest route through the mountains. Xinglong's layout reflects all of this, with a denser core and scattered clusters beyond it.
A Xinglong map poster turns that mountain setting into a graphic image: curving streets, winding roads and the white space of the surrounding hills. It is a quiet, understated print, well suited to someone with family ties to the area or a fondness for places where the land clearly decides the shape of the town.

Winding roads
Roads curve and switch back through the hills, drawing looping lines that give the map much of its movement.
Mountain setting
Steep slopes surround the town on all sides and appear as open space, giving the streets a clear frame.
