Zuunmod Map Poster
Zuunmod, also written Dzuunmod, is the capital of Töv Aimag, the province that surrounds Ulaanbaatar. Its name means a hundred trees. It sits in a broad valley below the southern slopes of Bogd Khan Uul, and the road from the capital crosses this range to get there.
From above, the settlement is compact. A handful of wide streets form the centre, with public buildings and apartment blocks set in a regular pattern. Around them, fenced household plots spread out in uneven rows. A Zuunmod map poster places these two textures side by side, with the steppe starting where the fences end.
The land around the town is almost unbroken, with grassland, dirt tracks and the soft contours of hills to the north. Printed in black and white, the town is a small, clearly defined shape, and the tracks leading away from it give the sheet a sense of distance.
