Ajara Map Poster & Print
Ajara is a town in the Kolhapur district of southern Maharashtra, close to the Western Ghats and the border with Karnataka. The Hiranyakeshi river runs past it, and from above the town appears as a modest cluster of streets on gently rolling land, with forested hills rising to the west.
The area gets heavy monsoon rain from the nearby Ghats, which keeps the surrounding countryside green for much of the year. Rice and other crops fill the fields around the town, and the map shows a patchwork of small plots, village roads and streams feeding into the river.
An Ajara map poster pairs the curve of the river with the compact town centre and the roads that lead toward the hills. In monochrome, the winding watercourses and the looser pattern of rural roads make a soft, organic composition. It suits anyone with roots in this corner of Kolhapur district or fond memories of monsoon trips through the Ghats.
