River channels
Waterways of the Damodar basin meander across the plain near the town. They add long, curving lines to an otherwise flat landscape.

Āmta Map Poster & Print
Āmta is in Howrah district, West Bengal, in the low alluvial country west of Kolkata. The land is flat and full of water. Rivers of the Damodar system run nearby, and around them the map is dotted with ponds, drainage channels and paddy fields. The town forms a modest cluster of streets on this wet plain.
Āmta has long been linked to Howrah by rail. A narrow-gauge light railway once connected the two, and a broad-gauge line now serves the route. On the map, the railway and the main road are the straight lines in a landscape otherwise shaped by water, with lanes that bend around ponds and field edges.
The Āmta map poster shows the characteristic texture of rural Bengal: small water bodies scattered like punctuation, winding channels and a fine web of village lanes. It is a detailed, calm image. People from the area will recognise it immediately, even without a single landmark named.

Scattered ponds
Dozens of small ponds and tanks appear as dark, rounded shapes. They are typical of settlements in lower Bengal.
Rail to Howrah
The railway line toward Howrah cuts a straight path through fields and villages. It links Āmta with the wider Kolkata region.
