Aranđelovac lies in the Šumadija region of central Serbia, between the mountains of Bukulja and Venčac. From above, the town's streets spread across the valley floor and climb gradually toward the forested slopes. Its best-known feature, the park of Bukovička Banja, forms a large green mass beside the centre, with paths looping through the trees.
The town is known across the region for its mineral springs, and the spa has drawn visitors since the nineteenth century. It is also the home of Knjaz Miloš, one of Serbia's best-known bottled mineral waters. White marble has been quarried for a long time on nearby Venčac, and it appears in sculptures across the spa park that were made at a long-running international symposium.
An Aranđelovac map poster sets that green heart against the surrounding hills. Just outside town lies Risovača cave, an important Palaeolithic site. Beyond it, the wooded slopes of Bukulja rise to the west. The streets grow sparser toward the edges, and the forest closes in soon after.
