Beavercreek lies on the eastern side of the Dayton area in southwest Ohio, next to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. It grew rapidly in the second half of the twentieth century from farmland into a suburban city, and its map shows that history plainly: few straight grids, many looping residential streets and dead-end closes that branch from main roads.
Interstate 675 runs through the city, and along it cluster shopping centres and office parks, including the large mall area near the interchange. Between the subdivisions, creeks and parks leave winding green threads, and the older rural section-line roads still form a loose frame underneath the newer curving streets.
A Beavercreek map poster turns this pattern into something graphic. The curls and loops of residential streets fill the frame like fine handwriting, while the highway and main arterial roads give it bold direction. It is a very American suburban shape, shown in clean black and white.
