Cocal Map Poster
Cocal is a town in the north of Piauí, the part of the state that lies closest to the Atlantic coast. On a map, it appears as a modest, fairly regular grid of streets in a wide rural landscape, with roads leading out toward neighbouring towns and the larger regional centre of Parnaíba.
The town centre follows the typical pattern of many small Brazilian municipalities, with a main square, a church and straight streets arranged around them. Beyond the edge of town, the map opens up into lightly marked countryside, with local roads and streams crossing land that is mostly farmed or left open.
A Cocal map poster is a way of recording a small town as it actually looks, block by block. It is meant for people who know its streets and want to see them drawn with care, not reduced to a dot on a regional map.
