Dakota Ridge is a suburban community in Jefferson County, Colorado, on the south-western side of the Denver metropolitan area near Littleton. It takes its name from the Dakota Hogback, the long, sharp ridge of tilted sandstone that runs along the edge of the Front Range foothills.
From above, the area shows a pattern of looping residential streets, cul-de-sacs and parks, laid out on land that slopes gently toward the plains. To the west, the terrain rises quickly into ridges and canyons. Major roads, including the C-470 beltway, frame the neighbourhoods with long, sweeping curves.
