Golwayn Map Poster & Print
Golwayn is in the Somali Region of eastern Ethiopia, in the dry lowlands that extend toward the border with Somalia. The built area is compact, a group of streets and compounds forming a clear cluster. From above, the land around it is wide and lightly marked. There are few permanent features beyond tracks, seasonal watercourses and scattered settlements.
This is pastoral country, where livestock herding has long been central to life. On a map that shows up as space. Settlements are far apart and roads are few, and dry riverbeds carry water only after rain. Any line that does appear, a road or a wadi, becomes significant in the composition because there is so little else to draw.
A Golwayn map poster keeps the image honest and spare. The town sits as a dense focal point, tracks lead away across the plain, and faint natural lines mark the terrain. It is a map of a remote place drawn in the same careful style as any capital city.

Radiating tracks
Roads and tracks run out in several directions across the dry plain, connecting the town to distant settlements and grazing lands.
Seasonal watercourses
Dry riverbeds cross the surrounding country in thin, winding lines. They mark where water flows during the short rainy periods.
