Grove City lies on the southwest edge of the Columbus metropolitan area in central Ohio. From above, it has a clear historic core: a small grid of older streets around Broadway, the city's traditional main street. Around it, later suburban growth appears in curving roads, cul-de-sacs and subdivisions. Interstate 71 runs along its east side, with the Scioto River beyond.
The town began as a nineteenth-century village and has grown steadily as part of the expanding Columbus region. Its Town Center area along Broadway has kept much of its small-town character, with local businesses, events and a compact walkable layout, while newer neighbourhoods and commercial areas stretch toward the highway.
The Grove City map poster shows the story of that growth. The small, square grid of the old centre sits at the heart of the frame, surrounded by the looping, organic patterns of postwar and newer subdivisions. Parks and golf courses provide open areas, and the interstate forms a firm boundary on one side.
