Hengbei lies in the hilly interior of eastern Guangdong, a region of green ridges, narrow valleys and rivers that have long supported Hakka farming communities. The town occupies a stretch of valley floor, and its map follows the logic of that terrain: buildings concentrate on the flatter ground, while the hillsides around remain largely undeveloped.
