Kansad lies in the Surat district of southern Gujarat, on the low, flat plain near the Gulf of Khambhat. It sits close to the city of Surat and has grown with it. On the map, older village lanes sit beside newer residential blocks and industrial plots laid out on straighter lines, with farmland still filling the gaps between them.
This is a place in transition. Surat's rapid expansion has pulled surrounding settlements into its orbit, and Kansad's layout shows it: roads that once linked fields are now lined with buildings, and the edge between town and countryside shifts year by year. The wider area is crossed by drainage channels and the lower course of the Tapi's delta country.
