Khanpur Mahar lies in Ghotki District in upper Sindh, on the flat alluvial plain shaped by the Indus. The land here is intensively farmed. From above the town appears as a dense, irregular core of lanes and compounds, surrounded by a patchwork of fields that stretches evenly to every horizon.
